Biography
Dr. Mrs. Felicia Eyimuze Akusu, born on 9th September 1962 at Famgbe Town, Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, is the 2nd substantive Registrar of Bayelsa Medical University (BMU). She had her secondary education at the Federal Government Girls College, Abuloma, Rivers State, where she obtained her West African School Certificate (Division One) in 1980. She proceeded to the Rivers State University of Science and Technology (RSUST), Port Harcourt, where she earned a B.Sc. in Business Education (Management Option), graduating with Second Class Upper Division in 1984.
In 2000, she obtained a Master’s degree in Educational Planning and Management from RSUST, and later in 2021, she earned a Ph.D. in Educational Management from Niger Delta University (NDU).
She is married and blessed with children and grandchildren. A devout Christian, she advocates for peaceful coexistence as a pathway to maximum productivity.
Achievements
Dr. Mrs. Akusu has rendered over twenty-nine (29) years of dedicated service in tertiary education administration. She has been instrumental in strengthening administrative processes, academic support structures, and governance in different institutions.
She has served as Secretary, Member, and Chairperson of several Committees and Panels across universities, making innovative contributions to university administration. Her participation in numerous professional conferences and workshops has further honed her leadership and administrative skills.
She is an active member of professional bodies such as:
- Association of Nigerian Universities Professional Administrators (ANUPA)
- Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM)
Her outstanding contributions have earned her multiple awards of excellence from various organizations.
