Human Anatomy

About the Program

The B.Sc. Human Anatomy is a comprehensive four-year undergraduate program that provides in-depth knowledge of the structure, development, and function of the human body. It serves as a foundational degree for students aspiring to pursue careers in medicine, biomedical sciences, medical education, and research.

This program focuses on gross anatomy, histology, embryology, neuroanatomy, and anatomical techniques. Through lectures, dissection-based practicals, laboratory training, and research projects, students develop a profound understanding of the human body at the cellular, tissue, organ, and systemic levels.

Students will also gain foundational knowledge in related disciplines such as physiology, biochemistry, and pathology, enabling them to interpret the structural organization of the human body in both normal and diseased states.

Upon graduation, students will be prepared for roles in medical and paramedical education, anatomical research, forensic science, medical illustration, and health-related industries, or to pursue further studies in medicine or allied health sciences.

Program Objectives

The primary aim of the program is to train graduates with the anatomical knowledge and technical skills required to support healthcare, education, and research in biomedical fields.

Graduates of the program will be able to:

  • Describe and interpret the structure and development of the human body
  • Demonstrate practical skills in dissection and microscopic analysis of tissues
  • Understand the clinical relevance of anatomical structures in health and disease
  • Apply knowledge of anatomy in research, education, and healthcare innovation
  • Observe ethical, cultural, and professional standards in handling human specimens
  • Contribute to multidisciplinary healthcare and research teams

Graduates will emerge with:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of gross, microscopic, and developmental anatomy
  • Laboratory competence in dissection, histology, and anatomical techniques
  • Familiarity with the anatomical basis of clinical procedures and pathologies
  • Research skills in human biology and biomedical sciences
  • Preparation for careers in academia, health education, research, and healthcare innovation
  • Eligibility for postgraduate training in anatomy, medicine, and allied health fields
