1ST QUARTER 2025 STAFF TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT PROGAMME

“EXPLICATING THE BMU ASPIRE AGENDA AND STAFF CONDITIONS OF SERVICE

The University is pleased to announce a training programme designed to introduce Faculty and Staff to the new strategic direction and focus of Bayelsa Medical University (BMU) as encapsulated in the ASPIRE Agenda of the present administration of the institution.

This training and development programme aims to equip Faculty and Staff with a deep understanding of the “ASPIRE” principles and the “Conditions of Service” that govern their employment in the Bayelsa Medical University and how both can immensely contribute to the performance and success of the institution and your individual and collective role in it.

TARGET AUDIENCE: Please, be informed that registration, attendance and full participation in this training and development programme is compulsory for all Teaching and Non-teaching Staff of BMU.

The training and development programme is scheduled to take place as follows:

  • Date: Thursday 24th and Friday 25th April 2025
  • Time: 1.00pm - 5.00pm
  • Venue: Rooftop Auditorium, Bayelsa Medical University, Yenagoa
  • Duration: [4 hours) each day

REGISTRATION: There will be two alternative modes of REGISTRATION for this staff training and development programme as follows:

  • Physical Registration: This mode of registration is for persons who are not IT-compliant. Such Faculty and Staff are requested to collect the training Registration Form from the following 6 Registration Centres:
  • Staff Attendance Desk in front of Admin Block - Mr. Pabara Yeilagha and Mr. Akene.
  • Faculty Officer - Faculty of Clinical Sciences
  • Faculty Officer - Faculty of Health Sciences
  • Hostel Supervisor - Male Hostel
  • Hostel Supervisr - Female Hostel
  • HR Officer - Human Resources Office.

            NOTE: Registration Forms should be completed and submitted to the points        of collection.

DEADLINE FOR REGISTRATION: Please, be informed that both Physical and Online registration should be completed on or before Friday 18th April 2025.

EXECUTIVE DIRECTIVE: The Vice-Chancellor has directed as follows with regards to all Staff Training and Development programmes of the University:

  • Registration, attendance and full participation of all Faculty and Staff is
  • Only Faculty and Staff who complete their registration for all scheduled University Staff Training and Development programmes by the stipulated deadlines and participate fully in the programmes will be issued Certificate of Attendance and Participation.
  • Registration and participation in all scheduled University Staff Training and Development programmes will be a requirement for Faculty and Staff to be considered for assessment in the Annual Appraisal for Promotion Exercise.
  • Only Faculty and Staff who complete the registration and participate in all scheduled University Staff Training and Development programmes will attract University sponsorship to attend national and international conferences, seminars and workshops as well as short courses.
