PROCUREMENT UNIT
BASIC INFORMATION ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT :
The Department was Established in August 15th 2019 by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ebitimitula Nicholas Etebu, following the Public Procurement Act 2007, and the Procurement Procedure Manual 2015,
the Department is responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day-to-day performance of the following duties.
- Registration of Suppliers/ Contractors.
- Estimating and Establishing cost parameters
- Calling for Invitation/Collections of Tenders from Suppliers and Contractors
- Evaluating and managing transactions for Procuring/Ordering and receiving of goods, works, and services.
- Supervising and monitoring of all Procurement performance and financial information related to Procurement implementation.
- Implementing all procurement processes and serve as the secretariat for all procurement Matters. E.t.c.
With the following units under it.
PROCUREMENT ADMINISTRATIVE UNIT :-
This unit is Responsible for Identifying and to properly channel non-Supply Purchase Orders (POs), Monitor goods received without invoices and follow-up suppliers, Analyze PO and invoice discrepancies and report to concerned Supplier, Participate in monthly reconciliation of purchases, Document issues that arise during the process and suggest improvements.
PRICE INTELLIGENCE UNIT:
This is the unit that is responsible for conducting market survey; keep comprehensive price data for the University equipment, consumables, stationeries, reagents and cleaning items
STORES UNIT:
This unit is responsible for receiving, storing, documenting and issuing of items procured by the University, also items donated to the University by various NGOs and state/ Federal Ministry of Health, and Education.
PROJECT EVALUATION UNIT:
This unit is responsible for evaluating projects and equipment bided by Contractors before awards. And also supervise ongoing project, this unit is headed by a quantity surveyor.
