YOUR EXCELLENCY, CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR ELECTION AS THE FIRST VICE PRESIDENT OF THE ACADEMY OF INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS OF NIGERIA.

I wish to expressively articulate my profound joy and praise to God for the honour to serve as the First Vice President of the highly prestigious Academy of International Affairs of Nigeria, especially coming just a few weeks after your conscription as Alternate Chairman of Committee of Pro-Chancellors of Nigerian Universities.

Considering your very rich portfolio and experience spanning decades in the diplomatic space, your election is well deserved, especially at these critical times, serving as a beacon of light in this era of diplomatic tensions in the ECOWAS Sub-Region.

You have distinguished yourself in the following diplomatic roles: Consul General to Cameroon (1999-2005), Nigerian Ambassador to the Scandinavian Countries of Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Norway amongst several others and this additional responsibility will be another excellent opportunity to display your astute diplomatic skills.

Sir, I am humbled to have the privilege of sharing the same working space with you in your capacity as a member of the Governing Council of the Bayelsa Medical University, where you have in no small measure dispensed and brought to bear your influence and goodwill for the progress of BMU.

Your new office is another feather that will broaden the frontiers of experience for you, and on behalf of the Governing Council, Senate, Management, Staff and Students of the University, I wish you wisdom to navigate the affairs of your new office by the side of the former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Prof Bolaji Akinyemi, CFR.
